Doomguards play chess too

Topic: Uncategorized|

doom

Whoever said Doomguards couldnt play chess was sadly mistaken.

doom
Here’s proof that they can, and they do. AND they’re pretty good at killing pally tanks too.

In happier news, Vuur rocks as a pirate….and flagging pvp and taking out all the horde in Booty Bay. That was just fun.

arrrr

Hydross <3′s Vuur

Topic: PvE, SSC|

After a few days of building resist sets and a few too many wipes on Lurker, we decided to give Hydross a try. With his switching between water and nature damage, we were hoping for the best.
hydross

As usual, a couple of wipes on the boss were expected and as it was getting late, we found out the hard way about the aggro issues on this fight.

hydrosslove

Vuur was loved as usual and after a few tries, we called it for the night.

Do not pour on self or others!

Topic: PvE|

Wandering around Shatt the other day I ran across a coffee vendor. Never having seen him before, I check out his wares and find (big surprise) he’s selling coffee. What really made me laugh those was the description on the coffee to not pour on self or others….
coffee

I was amused.

Speaking of gear, I was running my druid through some instances with some of my level 70 buddies and what happens to drop? A pretty sweet pair of pants… with dual stam?
I think one of those is supposed to be agility but it was odd.

stam

The last point of the day is that Dios is a great name for a warrior. Especially when he gets mind controlled and wipes the raid in sunken temple….whacking people for 2600 may be not so much when you are a 70, but poor little level 30-40s suffer greatly, especially on crits…
dios

I’d write more, but the pictures kind of speak for themselves and poor Vuur is a tad sick…

l2kill the plant

Topic: Uncategorized|

This weekend I had the pleasure of running with some alts as they had finally made it to 70 and were geared enough to attempt heroics.
We go in with a pally tank. He blows a simple pull by tossing an avengers shield and pulling multiple groups that mop the floor with us.
spanish
Joking around I tell him to l2pull.
I must be a nerd because I’m pretty sure he was serious.

Anyway, a few pulls later we get into a big discussion over vent about kill order. We usually kill Skull – X then whatever the pally focuses on, no big deal. Well in bot there are those nasty plant guys who hurt you. They were being marked with a green triangle so following the default kill order, we left them up. This started a huge debate about 4 pulls later.
plants
This has been documented as proof. Transcript below:

Pally: Why aren’t we killing the plants?
Mage: Because you never specified kill order, we’re killing skull
Pally: But i marked it as skull because I’m tanking it
Mage: that’s great but that’s why we’re killing it
Pally: But I want you to kill the plant!
Mage: You never said kill the plant
Pally: But (real MT who is hunter in this run) you always mark it with a green triangle, not a skull
Hunter: But I tell people to kill the plant first

It was entertaining

Would the real Flaafum please stand up?

Topic: PvE|

Honestly now. There’s a lot of demons out there. Does blizzard really have to be so repetitive to make them look exactly the same? I want a purple demon.
As mentioned in an earlier posting I’m a little grumpy where the demons are concerned.

demonology

Aside from the obvious chains and the slightly different names, these guys could all be twins. BUT, the guy I have captured is much more deadly than flaafum. He may be a little squishier, but he bites a lot harder. I don’t know how much of an upgrade he would be to my current demon, but it would be pretty nifty to be able to upgrade demons.
I was actually quite disappointed in this guy. After killing the boss, we took a little too long on the looting and he despawned before we made it to the next room. I was sad. If I’m going through all the effort of stealing a demon (that took someone’s soul to do that you know), I at least want to keep him for the full 5 minutes.
If a demon is enslaved, he shouldn’t be allowed to despawn. I captured him, I get to keep him. I was very sad.

A huntard, magetard and a tankadummy was HERE

Topic: PvE|

This is the sign of a good pally tank, dead mobs, nicely ringed together, all dead. /yay
you know it

This is a story of a huntard and tankadummy and a dead Vuur.
you know it
Running ramparts we’re just past those nasty shadowbolting guys about to go out into the big open area for the last 2 bosses. Huntard runs out to go MD to the pally (who when respeccing forgot his holy frisbee so has been doing body pulls and hunter MD’s the whole run). Huntard forgets about pat. Huntard FD’s. Mob says Hello Kitty! and starts beating on cat. Pally is too close and mob comes after pally after killing cat. Pally smacks a mob, Vuur dots a mob. Pally runs. Squishys look on in disbelief as pally turns and sprints with mobs running after. Vuur goes squish, rogue goes squish, huntard is faking it. Pally DI’s priest and then goes squish.
/grumpy vuur

This is a story of a magetard
To make the weekend even better, we go on a regular slabs run – different crew this time. The spriest and the pally also have mage alts. We’re getting up to the last boss in slabs and since there are a bunch of casters the tank asks the mage to counterspell one of the casters so the full group can be pulled. The conversation went something as follows.
Pally:”Mage, counterspell the green”
Mage:”What?”
Pally:”Counterspell”
Mage:”ok”
/pally pulls
Mage:”It says nothing to steal?”
Pally: “Not Spell-steal, counterspell”
Mage:”What?”
Pally: “Counterspell”
Mage: “I dont have that”
Pally: “What? You have to”
Mage: “No, I really don’t have that”
/whispers among those with mages
you know it
Pally:”You should, it’s like a level 12 spell”
Mage: “Where is it?”
Priest: “Arcane tab”
Mage: “What’s it called again? I don’t see it”
/facepalm
Pally:”Did you train it?”
Mage:”I think so I just don’t see it”

After more pulls, no counterspell we finish the instance. We talk with the mage for a while, I sign on one of mine and located counterspell on the arcane tab past all the conjure food. After about 15 minutes he finds the spell. The rest of us are just in disbelief that you can get that far into 70 and miss one of the most crucial spells

Minions for rent

Topic: PvE|

Warlocks are cool cause we have our pets and all but unlike hunters we can not train them. We’re mean and evil, we’ve tamed the demons of the dark but……they all look the same. We can’t change their names, we can’t get a red minion, we can’t make our Voidwalker purple. In essence, we all have minions that look the same. We can’t have a black fel puppy while someone else has a white, oh no. They’re all the same monotonous brown.

BUT. Occasionally we can get a new pet (for 5 minutes or less). I’ve enslaved many demons over my time but I still find the Hellfire Familiar as one of my favorites. Why do I prefer him over my imp? He’s big, he has a 12k mana pool, he doesn’t whine like Lazkin does and he hits like a truck. He has more health than the Kara imps and he just plain looks better.
you know it
The bad news is he only lasted 3 minutes before breaking and then everyone killed him.

I think it would be cool to be able to swap out your imp. Not all imps are alike, some are better for certain things. When running as an affliction lock, I’d love an imp with a 12k mana pool I could Dark Pact from and steal mana all day. 6k from Lazkin doesn’t quite cut it. Just like hunters can have different types of pets that do the same thing, so should we! Maybe I want a kara imp! or a felhound from the 2nd boss in Ramparts or a concubine seductress chick from kara. Maybe I want to be daring and get a Malicious Instructor from slabs. It would be really cool to be able to swap around your pet for upgrades from guys you run around killing all day, different colors, maybe different talents (or maybe I’m just reading BRK’s blog too much and am jealous of all the hunter pet choices)….

BUT. /point at Mojo
Look what I got in ZA the other day? A bunch of others run around with their little Mojo from ZA and I finally got one. I’m not going to lie, I squealed like a little girl in excitement, it was pretty nifty.
AND I’m a champion of the Naaru. What is a Naaru? I know it’s those glowey light thingy dudes hanging around but I’d be much happier if I could glow too instead of having my name extend out to 40 characters long.

Next topic.
As master chef, I have all sorts of food for people. My rogue buddy was in need of some extra hit rating food so we helped him out. Then we talked about pvp and while we’re currently on break from pvp and actually have 13k health in pvp gear, we found it more amusing this way.
11k
Maybe I should go back to pvp…it’s been a while, I may be over my grumpiness.
